What information Martial Arts Near Me handles, why, and your rights. Last updated 21 October 2026.
Who we are
Martial Arts Near Me (martialartsnearme.co.uk) is run by HYDRANODE LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15672526), registered office 124 City Road, London, England, EC1V 2NX. We're responsible for the personal information described here. Contact us at [email protected].
The short version
- We don't set cookies or use advertising trackers. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies.
- If you use the List your gym form, we keep your name, email address and request to deal with it, and delete them after 12 months.
- Postcode search, maps and the form's bot check load from other services, which see your IP address, as any website you connect to does.
When you browse the site
Cloudflare hosts the site. To deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you ask for. We don't use this to identify you.
We don't set any cookies. If Cloudflare needs to check that traffic is coming from a person rather than a bot, it may set a security cookie. That cookie is strictly necessary and isn't used to track you.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It runs a small script from Cloudflare that doesn't use cookies or local storage and doesn't follow you across other websites. It records things like the page you viewed, the site you came from, your browser and device type and your country, and we only see these as totals.
Searching by postcode
If you type a postcode into the search box, your browser sends it topostcodes.io, a free postcode lookup service run by Ideal Postcodes, to find where it is. postcodes.io sees the postcode and your IP address. We never receive or store the postcode. If you search for a town or city by name, nothing is sent.
Maps
Listing and gym pages show a map. When you scroll to it, your browser loads map images fromOpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org), which sees your IP address and the area being shown. Map data is from OpenStreetMap.
The List your gym form
What we collect
Your name, email address and how you're connected to the gym, plus the gym's name, town and website and the details you send us.
Why we use it
To deal with your request: to check it, update the listing and reply to you. For a claim, we may contact the gym using the phone number or email on its own website to confirm you can speak for it. We don't use your details for marketing, and we don't sell or share them.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: keeping the directory accurate and answering people who contact us.
The bot check
To stop spam, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile. It loads from challenges.cloudflare.com when you start filling in the form, and processes your IP address and technical details about your browser to tell people from bots. Cloudflare'sTurnstile privacy addendum explains what it collects.
Where it's kept and for how long
Requests are stored in a database run by Cloudflare on our behalf. We don't store your IP address with your request. We delete requests 12 months after we receive them. Cloudflare may process data outside the UK; its data processing terms include safeguards for this.
Information about gyms
Listings show business information that gyms publish on their own websites, such as the gym's name, address, phone number, prices and timetable. Some gyms are run by individuals, so this can include personal information. We publish it because it helps people compare local gyms, which is our legitimate interest. If you run a gym and want something corrected or removed, use the List your gym form or email [email protected].
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it or stop using it. You can also ask for it in a format you can take elsewhere. Email [email protected] and we'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office:ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
